Each year Dalbeattie Community Initiative Preloved Charity shop sets aside approximately £3000 per year to be awarded to organisations, groups and individuals in the area covered by the Dalbeattie Community Initiative (Dalbeattie, Beeswing, Buittle Parish, Haugh of Urr, Kirkgunzeon, Colvend and Southwick). Commercial enterprises may not apply.

From June 2021, the awards scheme is reopening, but with a reduced funding of £1000 due to the enforced closure of the shop during the Covid-19 pandemic.
